We're Back!

We blew out the record books for the busiest summer in our family's history.

And the blog suffered because of it.

But the tradeoff was sweet...  We got a new baby, took two out-of-state vacations, followed kids in new sports, and got our upcoming homeschool year off to a better start than ever. I'll take a wimpy blog.

Having said that, the end of the wimpy blog is here. I will be updating with a summer-full of posts over this holiday weekend. The conversation may be minimal due to time constraints (school IS starting on Tuesday), but the photos will tell the story.

Kathleen in our neighbor's pool.

The neighbors invited us over on the hottest day of the year. Bless those good neighbors!

William is enjoying his day at the pool.

A pool invitation got Anna Marie out of the house quickly.

The Licker and the Kisser

I was chatting with Therese about her swimming lessons. Just to prompt some conversation, I asked Therese how many kids are in her swimming class. (There are four. A couple three-year-olds, a two-year-old, and Therese who just turned four.)

Her response is a classic:

"Well, let's see [she says, while counting on her fingers]...  There's one... that's the boy who licks us.  There's two... that's the little girl who kisses me.  There's three... that's me.  And there's four... That's the good little boy who is a not a licker or a kisser."

There you go. Swimming lessons are apparently cozy with the preschool set.  Too funny.
